Bringing forward Phase 6 with much‑needed new homes and completing the final part of the masterplan.
WHAT IS BEING PROPOSED?
Berkeley is preparing updated proposals for the final phase of Kidbrooke Village. The emerging plans include
Delivery of much needed new homes
New public spaces
Improved walking and cycling connections
Decarbonisation of Kidbrooke Village with a new Energy Centre
Financial contribution to local infrastructure through Community Infrastructure Levy payments
WHY ARE UPDATED PROPOSALS NEEDED?
Planning permission was consented on the site in 2015. Since then, there have been significant changes in the construction industry with new regulatory requirements. As a result, the consented scheme is no longer viable to deliver in its current form.
Building Standards and Regulations
There have also been important changes to national building regulations since 2015. New requirements relating to building safety, fire safety and energy efficiency mean that developments must now meet different standards than those in place when the original permission was granted.
Updating the proposals will help ensure that the development can be delivered successfully while meeting current regulations.

The proposals are still being developed and feedback from residents, local representatives and other stakeholders will help shape the plans.
Thank you for attending our first round of public consultations in June. The second round of public consultations will be held in October with more details to follow.

NEXT STEPS: A full planning application is currently expected to be prepared and submitted in January 2027, with a target committee date in summer 2027.
